Art Gala: "A Celebration of Growth"

Our latest event was our first annual Art Gala that featured art from the Rochester community. The event was inspired by Kallpa's creativity and passion, and we wanted to incorporate that into one of our events this year. We hosted the art gala at a local gallery where we sold 9 different pieces of artwork and made a grand total of $1,831 through donations, raffles, and auctions.

With the help of our members and their donated goods, our chapter collected a large variety of items from study guides to scarves to sell to the University of Rochester students. Because the event was so successful the first time around, we decided to hold another at the beginning of the semester.

Benefit Dinner

After having a successful experience last year, our chapter is proud to host our second annual Benefit Dinner some time in February of 2013. For our guests we will provide a catered dinner with guest speakers, performers, and a silent auction.  We want to invite GlobeMed members and family a friends from around the world to send us postcards and then display and potentially sell them at our Benefit Dinner to make it a truly global celebration. Our goal is to make $2,000 and we could use all the help we can get.

GlobeMed 5k: Come Together, Run Together

On April 7, 2013 GlobeMed will host our second annual 5k race to benefit Kallpa, Iquitos. We are excited to be hosting this event in partnership with the Community Place of Rochester. a. Registration costs $10, and the race will begin at 10:00am behind the Staybridge Suites. Our goal is to raise $1500 for this event, and as always all of our proceeds will go directly to Kallpa to support their amazing programs. We invite all family, friends and community members from the Rochester area to join us, as its sure to be an enjoyable day!
